Reon is Legal Counsel at GV and has been with the team since 2021. He advises and assists GV's investment team on the structuring, negotiation and execution of investments, divestments, and general corporate matters, both internally and as it relates to GV's portfolio companies.

Prior to joining GV, Reon was an Associate at Gunderson Dettmer in New York, where he counseled startups across stages and in various industries as well as venture capital funds on debt and equity financings, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance matters. Before joining Gunderson Dettmer, Reon was an Associate at another New York law firm where he advised both public and private companies on mergers and acquisitions and private equity transactions. He began his career at one of South Africa's preeminent law firms in Johannesburg, Bowmans, as an Associate in mergers and acquisitions.

Reon is admitted to practice law in South Africa and New York. He received his LLB and LLM degrees from the University of Cape Town and an LLM degree from Harvard Law School. Outside of work, Reon is always planning his next trip or making plans to see friends around New York City.
