GV Investing Partner Terri Burns
If you've spent much time around our GV team in the past few years, you probably already know Terri Burns, a bright star with seemingly boundless energy for our day-to-day work. Terri joined GV just three years ago as a Principal on our investing team, where she hit the ground sprinting alongside our General Partners on deals. A computer science major with product management experience, Terri's personal preparation ahead of complex board meetings or our most technical deep dives is methodical. Her diligence calls, founder meetings, and investment write-ups articulate technical products with contagious enthusiasm and a keen attention to detail. In true GV form, she goes out of her way to build long-term relationships in support of our portfolio, focused on enduring products and resilient company cultures. Terri is well on her way to becoming a strong investor, and I'm thrilled to tell you that she has just been named our youngest-ever Investing Partner.
Terri has a track record of going above and beyond, and this year she has led two early-stage Gen-Z consumer investments in HAGS and another company yet to be announced. Her investments reveal her interest in companies built by and for Gen Z, particularly as this generation comes of age in a remarkably uncertain time. A member of the inaugural APM (associate product manager) class at Twitter, Terri learned from PMs we respect and combined her computer science degree with her knack for precise and deeply detailed planning. Her founder-focused approach comes from her personal experience building technologies with respected teams.
A current Kauffman Fellow, Terri is passionate about improving diversity across the venture capital industry, and served as emcee for the inaugural All Raise Summit. She's also worked closely with Brave Initiatives, a nonprofit providing high school girls with coding and leadership training. At GV, in addition to partnering with our GPs on investments and leading several on her own, she collaborates on our efforts to increase underrepresented founders in our portfolio.
Terri's exceptional work has team-wide impact. We're excited to see her grow with GV.
